THE ROAD TO SANITY By Kelechukwu Opara
Hunger is a bad inspiration and ignorance is a scourge. The desperation of poverty makes it easy for perverts in power to manipulate the poor, the residual effects of poverty is unquantifiable.
With the political, economic situation in the country, it is utterly unbelievable that we still have ignorant and gullible half educated electorate in a very high number, the road to security is till far away.
The fight against office perks, crime fiscal waste, commitment to lower tax, efficient payment of our senior citizens and workers at the right time, provision of conducive environment for investments, improved garbage collection, zero tolerance, occultism, rural development, primary/secondary healthcare delivery, infrastructural developments etc starts now.
Grating economic condition have forced our youths to become gays, lesbians, kidnappers, armed robbers, thugs, assassins, rituatists, drug dealers/addicts. Internet scammers.
For our politicians the youths, who constitute 50% of our 170 million population are available catchment targets for illegality and the absurds.
While our leaders have stolen wealth for generations urban, the earmark the best in life for their children, the best education, Cars, environment, Wears, Food, Medicare etc (both at home and mostly in the developed economics). These miscreants appreciate the organised and prosperous outlook of all the advanced countries, but recently refuse such developments here. As the elections approaches all have made arrangements for the safely and wellbeing of their children, it is the children of the masses that will be used for wanton destruction, looting, killings, election manipulation.
Since our leaders are not interested in leaving lasting legacies, it is left to us the citizens to work towards reversing the ills/evils afflicting our country with GOD on our side. Late president Ronald Reagan once said “we are never defeated until we give up on GOD. The will of the people will always prevail against might and oppression.
We must awaken the consciousness of all eligible voters to actively participate in the electoral process, it is obvious that the political clan are yet to come to term to a common national purpose, we must therefore attack the bedlam and lack of purpose in our political landscape, Mike Murdock said “Beginning is half victory in any enterprise. The road to sanity starts now.
